What is this course about?

This creative and practical course will guide you through the fundamentals of writing engaging content across a variety of formats. Whether you’re interested in storytelling, blogging, or crafting content for business, you’ll explore simple yet powerful techniques to spark ideas and bring your writing to life.
You’ll experiment with writing for books (fiction and non-fiction), magazines, and social media, gaining confidence and learning how to connect with your audience in a meaningful way.
Any previous experience/qualifications you need to do the course
A basic level of conversational and written English, an understanding of computer software eg Microsoft office and using the Internet.
What you need to bring with you
Face to Face sessions Students will need to bring a note pad and pen or pencil.
Remote sessions: Students will also need a tablet or laptop.

How you will be assessed
Through questions and answers, the completion of weekly learner reflection forms and a short sample of your work completed during the session.
How much studying will I need to do outside the lesson?
Writing improves with practice. While there’s no pressure, we recommend around 1–2 hours per week of independent writing to get the most from the course.
